Running the bridge and going to the opera

Well, the rain stopped so we took off to go across the Sydney Harbor Bridge. Terry ran it and Joyce walked and snapped pictures.  We saw several wedding parties throughout the day.  Many were held in the Botanical Gardens alongside the harbor and we saw several taking photos in the Rocks District.

The historic "Rocks" area of Sydney.  Site of the original town and built by convicts sent to Australia from England.

Our 'home" for the past 30 days.

Opera House from the Bridge
After the run, we found a little outside restaurant to have some dinner. Just as we were finishing, up walks our newly found Colorado neighbors. Bob had been to Sydney many times over the years on business trips and was searching out the restaurant that we were at as it was one of his favorites! We laughed as we seemed to run into them many times on the ship. Great couple and we've gotten to know them pretty well now as we had several dinners with them on the ship and a couple of the same tours at the ports.  We have plans to get together once we get back home to Colorado.

After dinner we headed over to the Opera House for the performance of Rigoletto, an opera. It was actually very enjoyable! The sets were beautiful, the singing superb, and we could follow the story line very easily as there were subtitles on a screen above the stage that translated what was being sung in Italian. Glad we attended a performance. It was very memorable!
Ready to go inside for the performance of Rigoletto
