A day at sea and we decide to
do something we don’t usually do….attend the Art Auction! We knew that this would be the day the
Navigation Map for this leg of the voyage would be auctioned. This cruise is actually 3 voyages, back-to-back. With each voyage there is a navigation map
that details the exact route the ship takes.
All the officers sign the map and it is auctioned off, with the proceeds
going to a Princess Cruise line charity.
We had heard that the map of
the first voyage sold for $1,500. So we
were interested to see what the map of the voyage going ‘round the horn’ would
sell for so off we went to the Art Auction.
The man came over to
congratulate her and he started talking about his excursion the other day to
Antarctica. He said it was well worth
the $3,000 to fly and land on Antarctica!
Gulp! That’s way more than what I
thought the tour sold for. Anyway, he had
wanted to buy the map because he had gone to Antarctica. WOW!
And it’s Formal Night so here
we are.
