Aruba - One Happy Island

We had a great day in Aruba. Today's visit to Aruba was our third time on the island, which is located only 20 miles north of Venezuela.  It has become a favorite because of the white powder sand beaches and warm, calm waters.  Instead of the usual taxi ride to the beach area, this time we travelled on the city bus for a mere $2.30 each for a roundtrip ticket!  We walked out of the port area, and hopped on the bus just 50 yards down the street.  Fifteen minutes later we arrived at Palm Beach and quickly rented a palapa (umbrella), 2 lounge chairs, and 2 floating mats.  We were set for a relaxing day.

We were glad for the partially cloudy skies and the cool breezes as they made it possible to stay on the beach longer than we might have otherwise. Before we knew it, the day was gone and we headed back to the ship.

Next we head to Curacao...just 110 miles away
